F40 6-speed manual transmission






















 · The F40 MT2/MU9 uses a Castrol Burmah (BOT ) manual transmission fluid, or GM gear oil. This gear oil is identified in GM documentation as a synthetic 75W GL Just checked wis 6 speed is F40 but there's 3 different ratios FM67 FM68 FM6A.  · It is the 6-speed F40 from the G6 GTP as opposed to the 5-speed F35 transmission from the Cobalt SS. My question: 1.) Does anyone know of a limited slip differential (LSD) for the F40? Gm has one for the F35 tranny for $ but I would want to know . We have also recently had some UK customers who bought it for the Opel Insignia with the turbo Diesel engine turbo vehicles with the 6 speed and the clutch fits, but the flywheel is different.


Originally a design developed for Fiat, Opel and Saab applications, the F40 (MT2) is a GM Powertrain - Europe six-speed manual transaxle built in Russelsheim, Germany. Its first use in a North American application was the Pontiac G6 for the model year. This is a like new GM 6-speed manual transmission. It was pulled from a wrecked Pontiac G6 GTP about 10 years ago and has been sitting unused and uninstalled ever since. It has been kept inside and has never been exposed to any harsh environmental conditions. It was purchased for a project. The GM MR6/F40 six-speed manual transaxle was first developed for GM Europe, for use in Opel and Saab applications. Originally a design developed by GM Powertrain Sweden Södertälje - Europe six-speed manual transaxle built by Opel in Rüsselsheim am Main, Germany (from today) ( Gothenburg Sweden).
